Hi There! My name is Terri De Borger. I am a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I’m also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers, as well as the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT).
My journey as a counsellor began over a decade ago learning and growing in my work with children, adolescence, and their families. I recognized very quickly that each individual came with a unique story, as well as their own set of skills and abilities to assist them along the way.
I obtained a Master of Social Work degree in 2011 from the University of Western Ontario. I have worked with children and youth in a variety of settings including hospital, school board, as well as a community based mental health organization. I have supported families through a variety of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, as well as other developmental life transitions.
My approach is collaborative, client-centred, and trauma informed. I have completed all 3 levels of play therapy training through the CAPT, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Basic Training, as well as participated in various other training including CBT, DBT, and other trauma and attachment-based modalities.
My goal is to provide a counselling experience where clients feel heard, respected, and safe. To build a relationship that fosters connection and growth.
